SCORES and AWARDS:
After the completion of the tournament round in each division in any CJGT event, trophies will be given to the Top 3 finishers in each division, as well as awards to the Top 5 finishers in each division.
Ties for 1st place will be broken with a sudden death playoff
If weather or darkness prevents completing a sudden death playoff, the winner will be decided by a scorecard playoff using the methods outlined below for 2nd and 3rd place ties.
Ties for 2nd and 3rd will be broken by the following: All ties will be determined on the basis of the best score on the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 9th hole. If the players are still tied, continue backwards from the last hole until a winner is determined.
- If 2 or more players tie for 4th or below, points for those spots will be given to each player equally.
If the competition has an 18 hole division, all ties for eighteen hole players will be determined on the basis of the best score on the last nine holes played. If the tying players have the same score for the last nine, the position of finish will be determined on the basis of the last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole. If the players are stilled tied, the score on the holes counting backwards beginning on hole 17 will determine postion of finish;
If the competition has a split tee start for eighteen hole players within the same division, the “last nine holes, last six holes, etc.” is considered to be the last 9 holes of the course.
If an event is shortened due to inclement weather, scorecard playoffs will be determined by:
- 5 or 6 holes completed – last three, last hole
- 7 or 8 holes completed – last six, last three, last hole
- 9 or more holes completed – last 9, last six, last three, last hole
- If the players are still tied using the above method, continue backwards from the last hole until a winner is determined
- AT LEAST 5 HOLES MUST BE COMPLETED IN 9-HOLE EVENTS TO BE CONISIDERED A TOURNAMENT
POINTS and TOUR CHAMPION HONORS:
Points will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each division at each regular season event and will accumulate throughout the year. If 2 or more players tie for 4th or below, the points for those spots will be given to each player equally. Points for playing in a Tour Championship will be awarded at 1 1/2 times the regular points allocation. In the event of ties during the Tour Championship, a sudden death playoff will decide a tie between 1st and 2nd place for both the day’s event and Tour Champion honors. For other ties, equal points will be given to each player that ties for that place. A scorecard playoff will only be used to determine awards for that day’s event and NOT Tour Champion honors.
The player with the highest total of accumulated points for that calendar year’s tour in his or her division will be named Tour Champion in that division. To be eligible to be named Tour Champion in any division, members MUST play in the Tour Championship for that tour year and have played in a minimum of 6 CJGT events total (to include the Tour Championship) for that tour year. TOUR CHAMPIONS IN BOTH THE BOYS AND THE GIRLS 12-15 AGE DIVISION AND THE TOUR CHAMPION IN THE BOYS 9-11 DIVISION WILL EARN AN INVITATION TO PLAY THE HURRICANE TOUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN ORLANDO,FL IN DECEMBER OF THE SAME YEAR. Please note that in order for the Tour Champion of the Boys 9-11 Division to accept the invitation to the HJGT National Championship, they must be 11 years old on the last day of that competition.
CJGT will name Tour Champion Runners-Up in all divisions. Runners-Up must also meet the requirements of having played a minimum of 5 Regular Season CJGT events and the Tour Championship. In the event that the Tour Champion cannot compete in a tournament that they have qualified for, the invitation will then be extended to the Runner-Up. Points will not carry over between age divisions or from one year to another. All players will begin each Tour year at zero points.
